Weaving is a fun and the grade 2 learners have been experimenting with it. They worked by using colored strips of paper woven on the front side of their Mother's Day cards. The learners had to make the paper strips go over and under and work with opposite colors to create an interesting and strong weaving. Then they decorated the top of the card by putting a collaged relief flower. Finally, they each wrote a poem in the card.... Happy Mother's Day.
The grade 2 learners made drawings about figures. They used their drawing skills to draw human figures with many shapes... circles, rectangles and triangles. Afterwards, they used colored pencils and markers to fill the pictures in, all the while following directions. They also learned about many types of facial expressions. The art work is as expressive and unique as each learner.
