There are many different species of animals and their characteristics are as different. Each learner draw the patterns of their chosen animals(scales for fish, feathers for birds and stripes for tigers...) with an oil pastel and then painted it in. Then they cut out the black silohette of their animal and glued it on the painting.
The learners of grade 3 had a lot of fun finding and drawing the shapes found in nature; both on land and in the ocean. They applied the technique of symmetry (which was integrated with their math lesson). Then they cut out all the shapes they had drawn and carefully arranged and glued them onto their backgrounds. Their art work was beautiful like the art of "Matisse".
