Animals were the theme for the grade 3 learners' art paintings. After experimenting to mix both light and dark colors from complimentary colors, the learners put their discoveries to work. The challenge was to create a painting with a pattern and to paint each piece with dark and light tones as well as adding shadows.Finally, the learners added black outlines to their drawing.
Grade 3 learner practiced the etching technique on a white Christmas card. Learners made a red candle by rolling a red paper to obtain a candle shape and then decorated it with flowers . Afterwards,learners used yellow and orange oil pastel colors to make the flame and then they used the etching technique (scratching off the top surface of color to reveal the bottom color)with the scissors. Finaly, learners added their wishes inside the card, Wishing You a Happy Holiday!
Grade 3 learners applied the rubbing technique to make colorful frames. They cut shapes of under water creatures and put them under a paper to rub its shape using wax crayons. The learners are currently studying about animals in science, so they were able to relate this with arts.
