Self-Portrait and self expression (click to view photos)

• Self-portraits often reflect the visual image as well as the different personalities of the artists. The grade 4 learners, explored and discussed many self-portraits done by famous artists, than they interpreted their faces with different expressions, using the lines and the basic structure of the head, to help them recognize the shapes and placement of their facial features. With oil pastels, the face was colored and outlined, patterns was used in the clothing and the background.
