Grade 4 learners enjoyed the session by using clay to make a relief project(low and high relief). First, they prepared an oval shaped base made up of clay(low relief). Then, they added the flowers vases(high relief). Finally the learners decorated their vases using a variety of engraving tools and added a hook to hang their beautiful art.
Beautiful carpet designs were made by the grade 4 learners using a technique called "Rubbing". They used a variety of textural surfaces to create these patterns. By placing the textures (lace, mats, baskets, doillies...)underneath their papers, they rubbed the crayons over the surface of the papers and like magic the patterns appeared. They finished the details by adding the fringed yarn borders and a thin layer of water color paints (resist technique) over the crayons to give a colorful background. They all look like magic carpets!
