The grade 6 learners drew the Lebanese houses by using the perspective, which is a technique used to represent a three dimensional world (what we see) on a two dimensional surface (a piece of paper) in a way that looks realistic and accurate, as we see it in nature. After viewing many pictures showing, the Lebanese architecture that shows the rich heritage and culture of Lebanon, the learners learned how to apply the one vanishing point, which is typically used for roads, hallways or buildings viewed so that the front is directly facing the viewer.Than they rendered their beautiful and traditional houses with the colors.
The grade 6 learners were introduced to the printmaking technique. Each one of them made his own relief printing and his Styrofoam cut. They drew the image of the city on the Styrofoam, and then carved it into the surface with the printing parts remaining level with the surface, while the non-printing parts were removed. Then, the plate was covered with colors, leaving paint upon the flat surface but not in the non-printing areas. At the end they printed the image on a paper. The learners were amazed by the printing result.
My green Lebanon is one of the integrated projects done by the grade 6 learners. They learned how to draw our beautiful cedars by applying the simple perspective which is used to show the different levels of the ground by using the horizon line, the eye level. Then paint was used to color and to show the different values they can have in a painting.
