A built up and layered relief project was done by the grade 6 learners using scraps of papers, cardboards and white glue. They create the relief compositions with simple perspective and balance. The theme of "Ever Changing Nature" gave each piece a unique look, as if the artwork is about to change its form and colors right before your eyes. Learners finished their projects using water based gouache, giving the artwork a vibrant look. The results are wonderful!
The grade 6 learners created these postcards featuring one point perspective. Learners used the basic vanishing point and converging lines needed to create a one point perspective design. Using simple perspective (overlapping, placing items above and below the horizon line) the learners drew their postcards with pencils. Then learners were challenged to fill their composition with objects such as windows, trees, ships, books, flag, flowers (all drawn in perspective). Then they used an array of media to color them in… crayons, markers, colored pencils. They rose to the challenge and the results are beautiful.
Grade 6 learners used many different paper folding and bending techniques to turn flat 2D papers into a 3D forms. They made tabs, slits, and cutouts. They bent, folded and pinched papers. They fringed and scored, curled, rolled, and even zigzagged their papers. Some even used origami folding. Each technique was glued to their poster where they arranged all to fill the space and label each piece.
