A Pretty Green visit!

Posted on: 20-11-2008

Orange, yellow, brown, red, and green; these are the colors that welcomed us after one hour and thirty minutes of singing in the bus. The AUB Farm was an amazing place with its breathtaking landscape and strong smells. The minute we reached the place, we were divided into groups and guided into the different locations of the farm to watch and hear about the animals and plants there. Four healthy young calves were eating and drinking in their private sections. A single gigantic bull that was separated from the rest of the cows in a huge barn was feeling lonely; however he got pleased with our company and the laughter of our kids as they fed it the dry hey. Cute rabbits rested in their cage and hid in their barrows watching us as we took pictures of them. The hen house was loaded with hens, chicks, and mountains of eggs that were stacked there. Our guide told us about early planting and showed us the field of olive trees and the green house. In contrast to these living things were the huge planting machines that were used in this great farm. After our tour ended, we rested on the grass under the trees and had our lunch. The best part was when we made farm animals out of the clay that was provided. It’s true what they say that time passes quickly when you are having fun, because although our destination was far, the field trip was indeed educational and fascinating!
