Let’s all spread the Christmas Spirit!

Posted on: 23-12-2008

Our favorite time of the year has finally arrived. Youppie! Christmas is here, everyone! Light up your Christmas tree and spread the Christmas! We’ve been anticipating this event all year round and like all other divisions at SMOC, we, the preschoolers and lower elementary learners, have also celebrated this festive season in our special way! December 22 was a spectacular day in our Preschool and Lower Elementary Divisions. Our dear teachers organized for us activities that made the event even merrier. One of the unforgettable activities was visiting the auditorium to watch the animation group perform a really stunning show for us. We were fascinated by the jugglers spinning the balls in the air and by the movements of the stilt-walkers dressed as Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer. Moreover, our hearts pounded with excitement as we watched the ballet dancer dancing gracefully on stage and as we saw the musicians playing on their saxophone and drums. The most important person, Santa with his white beard, was also there. Oh, it was really a magnificent show! For sure, celebrating Christmas in one day was not enough for us, the preschoolers and the Lower Elementary learners. That‘s why Tuesday was an additional day for us to join in many Christmas activities. In the Lower Elementary Santa came and gave us candy canes and chocolate while we sang joyful Christmas songs! In the Preschool, first, we went to “Santa’s house”. His room was so warm and cozy and beautifully decorated. There was a big chimney in the middle of the room. Guess who came out from the chimney? Of course, Santa!! He read us a story about Christmas and gave us some yummy treats. At the end we sang Christmas songs and danced all together and had a party in our own classrooms. We will remember this day for a long time! To add more fun to this day, each class played various Christmas games in the classrooms, like pinning the reindeer’s nose, chasing Santa, decorating Christmas trees while being blindfolded, throwing balls into a big bell and many, many more… Moreover, during these two days, we wore red and green clothes to represent Christmas colors. Most of all, celebrating the Christmas spirit instilled in us the values of giving, sharing and the gathering of friends and family. At last, we would like to say to everybody “Merry Christmas” and may you have delightful holidays! Zeina Kobeissi
