On Wednesday, the 17th of February, our class went on a trip to the firehouse. We were all very excited to learn about firefighters and to take a look at a real fire engine. When we arrived, a fireman greeted us. He showed us the fire engine and all the gear that the firemen wear. He even let the children try them on. He showed us the air pumps, the mask, the helmets, the boots that have metal in them (so that if something heavy falls, it doesn’t hurt), and the special jackets that protect them from the blazing fire. Our favorite part was when we were lifted up on a ladder. My group got to go very high. Some children got to put out real fires. Then we took a look at where the firemen stay.
It was a fun day at the fire House!
