The Transition from Preschool to Grade One is a big step for learners. To facilitate this phase and to make their next scholastic year smoother, Kg II learners visited the elementary division to explore the new location which they’ll be a part of. With a warm welcome, the host teachers and learners happily received the visitors. Since the learners were divided into two groups, the tour of the first group started with the first new location inside the class, while the other group was in the art room enjoying the accomplishment of a creative card that shows true feelings and tenderness. Along with the guidance and explanation of the teacher, learners skimmed through books, copybooks and school agenda. The enthusiasm of Grade One learners led them to take an active part where they clarified the role of the shelves, hooks and television. Moreover, the daily schedule and advisory sessions were a main focus where teachers attracted learners’ attention to the longer school days and daily guidance that the advisory sessions provide through discussions and sharing experience. Fulfilling self needs was stressed by teachers where they demonstrated usage of the bathroom pass and informed KGII learners that big boys and girls of Grade One depend on themselves while applying their self hygiene and other bathroom rules. After the clear demonstration, the two groups swapped places in order to have the chance of enjoying every moment of the event. At the end, visitors received friendship cards prepared by Grade One learners and they shared eating cupcakes and drinking juice in the recreational area. “Looking forward to be in Grade One” were words that accompanied the lovely angels ... “Goodbye”.
