Every one of us has a dream to accomplish, a vision to realize and a duty to carry on. Every one of us likes to do something worth remembering. But, what is that we can and should do?! Among the most important things to be done is keeping our country clean.
For the second year in a row, BOS participated in the trashcan painting competition “Yes You Can Too”, which took place on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in Beirut Souks. The objective of this competition is to raise awareness against littering and empower citizens, young and old, to play their role in making Lebanon a cleaner place.
BOS learners participated enthusiastically in this competition. They showed how they can be good to their country in a very creative and artistic way. On that sunny day they were, among other schools’ participants, busy working and painting the trash cans. They were not thinking of just winning, they were also focusing on the importance of raising the voice high to ask everyone to please keep our country clean. Use trash cans. Don’t litter. Don’t cut trees. Recycle and reuse.
The learners’ hard work paid off. Four of BOS learners won and came in second and third places each in their respective age group. The winners are: Rayane Ghalyini - BAC Grade 4, Alaa Kazma - SMOC Grade 1, Mira Sinno - BAC Grade 2, and Mona Jaber - ETD EB3. The trashcans they designed and painted will be placed in different locations around the city, among other trashcans that were painted that day.
Lebanon is a beautiful country; let us maintain its beauty by keeping it clean and litter free!
