With the jam-packed schedules of today's life, why would either a learner or a parent want to add one more major activity? Surprising to some, a science fair is one of the best learning experiences a learner can undertake and feel motivated to work on. What makes a science fair project such a great learning experience is that it involves so much more than science! The models presented in the fair are a great way to hone computer research skills, involve a good deal of math, and to enhance presentation skills. Our society relies more on science every day, and science fairs are a great way for learners to become more knowledgeable. Preparing a science fair project is an excellent example of what education experts call active learning or "hands-on" learning.
