End year outing
And that’s a wrap! As the final weeks of school loomed by, what better way to end a memorable year filled with wonderful memories than with a fun trip along with peers and teachers? For a child, the smallest things can provide the greatest joy and nature is the biggest toy store out there. Grade 1, 2, and 3 learners went on a new adventure and returned back with new stories! On May 30th, Sharewood Camp opened its doors and welcomed Grade 1 learners with open arms. Once all sections settled down, learners were divided into groups of 11 and were guided by monitors to various fun and challenging activities such as Escalade, Rappel, Zip Line, Tarzan games, and many more. Moreover, they cheered their teammates as they participated in rope pulling games and competitive races. The horseback rides also added a humorous touch to this entertaining trip. Second graders spent an adventurous day at La Boheme. They interacted with the natural environment and reinvigorated themselves by engaging in a very different activity from their classroom experience. They participated in various enjoyable games such as Zip Line, Archery, Skywalk, and wall climbing. The learners pushed their limits and learned more about their own physical and emotional capabilities. Moreover, they let out all the negative energy through running in nature, jumping on the trampoline, and swinging. The outdoor environment fulfilled the young learners’ basic needs for freedom, adventure, experimentation, and risk-taking As for third graders who went to Arnaoon, which is a standalone Lebanese village that welcomes visitors from all across the country to its picturesque natural landscape. Arnaoon village is providing schools with a unique educational opportunity for learners to get in touch with their heritage, and inviting them over to discover the traditions and values of a typical Lebanese village. Connecting with nature is a milestone in the development of children. Arnaoon allows them to understand its value and the importance of respecting it, as well as explore their sense of adventure and learn about teamwork while having fun. With guidance of monitors’, learners’ challenged themselves with the following: zip line, Floating Zigzag, Monkey Bridge, Balance Rope, Balance Tree, Shaking Zigzag, Swinging Logs Spider Ropes and Iron Step, in addition to, Bridge Crossing, a Slide, a Monkey Bridge, a Low Rope, Swings, a Climbing Wall, a Balance Game and a Spider Web. A blast till the very last! Mazra3et Bou Nedman the farm is where all the animals in the village are gathered to welcome guests of all ages, with onsite veterinarians waiting to provide a tour and fun facts about all the animals that can be seen and interacted with, such as peacocks, sheep, geese, ducks, pigeons, rabbits, monkeys, chicken, birds, donkeys, horses, dogs and turtles. Finally, on the way back to school, learners couldn’t help but reminisce joyfully the unforgettable memories they lived during that special trip which filled all hearts with happiness and anticipation for many more marvelous moments to come!
