And finally they hatched

Posted on: 25-02-2010

We, the Grade 7, had a very interesting activity during the agriculture session. We used an incubator to learn about the life cycle of the chicken. The fertilized eggs were placed inside the incubator with a temperature of 38oC and humidity 60 %; we flipped them twice a day for 19 consecutive days. The last two days, the temperature was decreased to 37oC and the humidity was increased to 70 %, because the chicks had already begun developing. After 21 days, it was a great joy for us to find that the eggs had hatched to form small chicks which, in turn, will grow to become chickens! It was such a joyful moment when we realized that new lives had started in our school: the lives of little chicks! Amr Kayali, Jihane Madi, Yara Abi Ghanem Grade 7
